DR. VAS KALYVAS
Principle Dentist & Owner
Born and bred in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Vas Kalyvas has practised dentistry in the local area for over a decade.
At Bay Dental Dr. Vas offers all the treatments and services you would expect from a leading dental practice. Relentless in his quest for providing the best possible care, he has recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants) from the University of Sydney. In 2004, Vas won the prestigious Haddon Kemp medal, an annual award first established in 1935 that recognises outstanding work in regional anaesthesia.
Vas also regularly attends dentistry conferences to stay at the top of his profession travelling to New York and Las Vegas to attend courses and conferences.
Whenever Vas gets a chance, he can be seen in the Bay with his wife Melissa and their children Nicholas and Paris. Dr. Vas enjoys fishing in the Port Stephens area and loves to cook up his catch of the day!
Dr. Aran grew up in Canberra, and completed his dental degree at Charles Sturt University in Orange. He gained valuable experience there in central-west NSW and also had the opportunity to briefly provide volunteer dental treatment in a remote Nepalese village. He finally made the move to the Hunter for the warmer weather and amazing beaches. Dr. Aran previously worked at another private clinic in Newcastle and in public community clinics in the region, before joining Bay Dental. He has a keen interest in restorative dentistry, preventative care, and oral surgery having attended various professional courses. He prides himself on providing holistic dental care that takes into account all your needs. Dr. Aran is a calm and friendly personality and ensures he takes the time to communicate to his patients so they fully understand all their treatment choices. Outside of dentistry, Aran enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hiking, and learning to surf.
DR. ARAN RAVISHANKER
Lauren grew up in Sydney and started her career in dental at 18 years of age. Initially as a dental assistant, then completed the Bachelor of Oral Health at Newcastle University in 2010.
Lauren has two young boys of her own and is extremely passionate about teaching the younger generation the importance of optimum oral health and providing them with the tools to achieve this.
With extensive experience as a Hygienist, Lauren delivers a thorough, caring, and understanding service to all of her patients.
In her time away from work she enjoys camping and fishing with her family.
